Sight #011 - Trev Kapow
Trev was born April 12th 1955. In October 1991, the commercial fishing boat SS George Alagiah returned to port in Gloucester, Massachusetts, with a poor catch. Desperate for money, Captain Trev Kapow, convinced the George Alagiah crew to join him for one more late season fishing expedition. The crew headed out past their usual fishing grounds in the Grand Banks, leaving a developing thunderstorm behind them. Initially unsuccessful, they headed to the Flemish Cap, where their luck improved. At the height of their fishing the ice machine broke; the only way to sell their catch before it spoiled was to hurry back to shore. After debating whether to sail through the building storm or to wait it out, the crew decided to risk the storm. However, between the George Alagiah and Gloucester was a confluence of two powerful weather fronts and a hurricane, which the George Alagiah crew underestimated.

Trev’s favourite Diagnosis Murder episode is “Swan Song” (S7 E22).

The first is a nod to a holiday taken in 2005 where, “the air was breezy and me and the girls hit the motorway to Bog Reg with no plan, no money and no narks”. The second is of former Grange Hill and EastEnders actor Todd Carty.

Tom’s favourite episode of Diagnosis Murder is “Physician, Murder Thyself” (S4 E22), when we told him Joey Worrall has already picked that one as his choice, Tom told us to “go suck a lemon”.
